About the festival

A small festival with children, music and nature at its heart

Wildlings is a small family festival on a working organic farm between Bristol and Bath. There’ll be music, making, dancing, stories, outdoor play, good food, fire-lit evenings, and almost certainly a few grass-stained knees.

It grew out of a simple feeling: children deserve festivals that are imaginative, welcoming and properly alive - and grown-ups deserve to enjoy them too.

The idea is to make something small enough to feel safe, but full of things to discover. Somewhere children can roam, make, sing, dance, listen, explore and get stuck into things - without families being swallowed up by a huge site, or rushed from one activity to the next.

Radford Mill Farm gives Wildlings much of its character: fields, trees, flowing water, farm walks, quiet corners and enough open space for the weekend to breathe. With fewer than 500 people on site, performances feel close, the atmosphere stays friendly, and there’s room for families to settle in and let the day unfold.

The programme brings together brilliant live music, early-years creativity, outdoor play, farm walks, stories, workshops, good food and fire-lit evenings under the trees. It is all shaped with care by people who love music, nature, children, and the slightly unpredictable joy that happens when you put them all together.

FAQs

What time is everything?
Friday 14th August: Gates open for campers from 3pm-9pm. Arrive, set up camp and enjoy a gentle evening of music, food and a film screening.

Saturday 15th August: Gates open from early morning throughout the day - our main festival day with live music, performances, workshops and activities running all day through to the evening campfire.

Sunday 16th August: A relaxed close with a couple more artists and food - we’ll be winding down from around 3pm (TBC).

You’re welcome to come and go during the festival - just ask for a re-entry stamp on your way out. Stage times will be announced online before the festival.
How do I get in?
There is a single entrance, clearly signed - Google Maps / What3Words: ///gamer.rotations.musical. Drive ~50 metres down the farm driveway, past the apple and pear trees and over the bridge. Please have your booking name and ticket confirmation ready. No phone signal on site - save your directions before you leave!
What food and drink is available?
The farm team offer delicious homemade meals and snacks throughout the day, using produce grown on the farm wherever possible, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. All meals come with a range of salads, plus a plain alternative always available for children.

The farm runs a fully licensed bar serving local beers, ciders, soft drinks and juices. All alcohol is strictly for over 18s - please bring photo ID if you’re under 25.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Yes! We recommend bringing what you need as there are no other shops or stalls on site. Please take your rubbish home with you - the farm cannot process additional waste.
What about camping?
Camping is booked separately by family pitch and covers both Friday and Saturday nights. Campervans are welcome (though there is no electric hookup). There are also rooms in the farmhouse and two shepherd’s huts available.

For safety, fires are not permitted - but we have a safely managed festival campfire for the evenings.
Loos, showers & water points
Toilets: The farm is environmentally focused and has plenty of eco compost loos spread around the site. Please add a scoop of sawdust after each visit. A few child seats and changing mats are available to borrow, but we recommend bringing your own if camping.

Showers: A couple of eco-showers are available for campers - please be aware these will be cold water only for our first year!

Water Points: Numerous water points are available on site with safe drinking water.
What about the river?
The beautiful Cam Brook runs through the farm. There is a natural barrier of grasses and greenery, but please warn children of water dangers. On Saturday there will be a set supervised window for river paddling - all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Is there mobile signal on site?
Very little, if any, depending on your network - and no public wifi. Please come prepared to be fully off-grid! A walk off-site and up the hill may find you a bar of signal. In an emergency, find a team member in a green high-vis jacket.
Is there a shop nearby?
There are a few local shops, a pub and a chip shop in Timsbury, about a mile away. There’s also a Tesco superstore ~2.5 miles away on the edge of Midsomer Norton with fuel and long opening hours.
Disabled access
Please contact us in advance if you have any access requirements at hello@wildlingsfestival.com. The farm facilities are limited but we will do our best to help and advise, and can provide an accessible drop-off point.
What if my child gets lost?
The site is well-contained. We have a gathering point next to the main stage/marquee. Parents and carers are responsible for their children at all times. First aiders are on site throughout the festival.
Photos & videos
We will be taking photos and videos throughout the festival for potential future funding and promotion. If you prefer to be excluded, please request a red wristband from our volunteers at the entrance and keep it visible - this lets our photographer and videographer know not to use your or your children’s images. We will do our best to blur any red wristbands visible in footage.

You’re welcome to take your own photos and videos of your experience, but please avoid close-up photos of other children without their parent’s permission. If you capture something great and are happy for us to share it, we’d love to see it - send it our way!
Can I get involved, volunteer or perform?
We love having as many people from the local community involved as possible - Wildlings is a festival from the community, for the community! Get in touch at hello@wildlingsfestival.com.
Feedback & comments
All feedback is incredibly helpful - we’re very keen to hear about your experience, what worked well and what might need improving for next year. We’ll have feedback forms on site, and will send a short email questionnaire after the festival.
